Hello my hip people as you know my family and I recently went cruising and let me just say we had the time of our life! Our cruise line was Carnival and our cruise ship was Liberty. The cruise ship was great on punctuality and food options. When it comes to activities for kids there were not many but we made the best out of what was provided. As for the shore excursions we had a blast!
We hugged, kissed and danced with dolphins in Costa Maya! Before we encountered the dolphin we had to learn a few hand signals and a bit of history about the dolphin we were going to interact with. The only downside was that they wouldn't allow you to take any photo or video. They were taking and selling pictures but they were way over priced. The price was like 60
bucks for one and 240 bucks for all the photos. We just thought that was highway robbery so we passed on the photos but the experience was way worth it!
Our next excursion was with the monkeys, macaws and pirates on the island of Rotan Honduras. We got lucky again on this one because we got another history lesson! This time it was about the original people of the island and let me just say it really hit home but to lighten the mood we got to hold the macaws and let the monkeys play with us cause they gave us no chance to play with them. It was so beautiful on that island that my husband and I are really considering moving there. Beautiful scenery, people and the cost of living is very low. I have found the place my spirit needs to be.
The beach we went to was in Cozumel Mexico on an island called Pasion. The beach had everything! included in our excursion was a buffet, open bar and a tequila tasting. We also learned how to make the tequila so thats why we got to taste it. About the only thing that was not included were the gift shops, the spa and the restaurant that was on the beach.
Now about the cruise ship dos and don'ts. Do get out your state room and attend the activities they have going on on the ship. Also they have a child care center you can take your kids to and they have all that they need there even food. The care is free until 10 at night. After 10 you have to pay. Do make sure you tip your housekeeping in order to avoid gratuity charges. Do make sure you bring some kind of reading material or what have you to do while you're in your state room if you decide not attend any of the activities on the ship or in between activities. If you are a drinker I suggest you pay for the bubbly package thing while paying for the cruise. Because those drinks are an arm and a leg.
Don't sit in your room all day get out and make the best aboard. If you dont want to do the activities they have pools, water slides, walking area, basketball, put put golf and so much more. Don't keep to yourself talk to people because you never know who you'll meet. Don't party all night if you know you have an excursion the next day cause trust you will be tired. Not a lot of don'ts really, because there were so many dos.
Guys really your cruise is what you make it. If you get up and get out your state room you will have the time of your life until you get to the next port. As I stated before we had a blast! We are not going to do another for a while because it can be exhausting but we will be doing a few more of them. There is so much more I can tell you but that would take forever. I tried hitting the high points the need to know stuff you know. I hope this help you guys a little bit.
